hello this link should take you to online support on the 8570, I hope you find the information helpful.

Solution : Enable or Disable the Efficiency (Energy Star) Mode

NOTE: To meet the Energy Star Tier III compliance requirements, the DNES printer configuration can be purchased. For this configuration only, when the Efficiency mode is enabled, ink consumption may increase due to additional cleaning cycles being performed when the printer is brought out of the Power Saver (sleep) mode.

The Energy Mode can be configured from the printer's Control Panel or from the printer's built-in web page (CentreWare Internet Services).

To enable or disable the Efficiency mode from the Control Panel:

NOTE: The printer will only have the Energy Mode menu selection if the printer was purchased as a DNES configuration.

  1. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button on the Control Panel to select [Printer Setup] on the Display Screen, and then press the [OK] button.
  2. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Printer Controls], and then press the [OK] button.
  3. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Energy Mode], and then press the [OK] button.
  4. Select one of the following options, and then press the [OK] button.
  • [Efficiency Mode]: This mode optimizes energy consumption. Warm-up times can take several minutes.
  • [Productivity Mode]: This mode increases energy consumption, but improves warm-up times.
  • To enable or disable the Efficiency mode using CentreWare Internet Services (CWIS):

NOTE: The printer will only have the Energy Mode menu selection if the printer was purchased as a DNES configuration.

    1. From the computer, open an Internet browser window.
    2. Enter the IP address of the printer in the Address field, and then press [Enter] on the keyboard. The CWIS home page will be displayed.
    3. Click on [Properties].
    4. Click on the [+] next to the General folder on the left side of the page to expand the contents of the folder.
    5. Click on [Energy Mode].
    6. Select one of the following options.
      • [Efficiency Mode]: This mode optimizes energy consumption. Warm-up times can take several minutes.
      • [Productivity Mode]: This mode increases energy consumption, but improves warm-up times.
    7. Click on [Save Changes].
