We bought 34 Xerox multifunction 8035 and 8055 printer and we need to allow all our non administrator users to install themselves these new printers, using UNC links.
We have no problem on Windows 10, but, it doen't work on Windows 7.
Each time, Windows start to install the driver and finish by an error "Operation failed with error 0x000003eb"
I tried also to install the printer locally, creating a TCP-IP port and with drivers copied on the workstation. Same issue.
We have this issue only with the following drivers:
Xerox GPD PS 5585.1300.0.0
Xeroc GPD PCL 5585.1300.0.0
Xerox GPD PS 5617.700.0.0
Xerox GPD PCL 5617.700.0.0
When I used the dedicated drivers, Xerox Altalink C8035 PCL6 for example, no problem.
But we need to use generic drivers, in order to install a pinting management solution in a few months.
I recall that we have this problem only on Windows 7 64 bits clients, when users aren't admin of their workstation.
I tried all GPOs possibles, followwing Microsoft recommendations. I tried all tuto found on the net (like delete drivers, remove registry keys...) Nothing works with there drivers. And the problem is only with recent Xerox Generic drivers.
If somebody have an idea, thx for your help.
