4260 Clone File

I posted this on the hardware forum as well, but was thinking it should also be on the printing forum. Does anyone have a stock clone (dlm) file for a 4260. Ideallly with the 1111 password, or one we can change. We have one remaining 4260 in our fleet but unfortunately we lost our clone file for it.

 

Any help is greatly appreciated!


Xerox workcentre 5330 help

Hello

I just installed my new Xerox workcentre 5330 printer. We have a few computers connected to a network.

 

We installed the drivers to each computer and it seemed to be working fine.

But there was a problem, on three computers we are unable to print from excel. Printing on microsoft word or emails is fine but i cant print on excel.

 

I get this error message :Xerox Device Status

075-451 Tray 5 is empty.
075-451 Tray 5 is empty. Add paper to Tray 5. Printing can continue.
 
I dont understand why whenever i try to print form excel the printer takes as a deafult tray the bypass tray.
 
Can you help me please.

I have to stay pretty generic because you don't mention your Operating system, the driver, the version of Office or really anything of note with your situation at all.

 

Make sure this isn't checked in Printer Properties > Advanced if a Windows OS

Then in Excel (This changes across Office versions) make sure the driver itself isn't using odd settings applied from Excel.

Then in just Excel itself, If Office 2003 or earlier there will be a tray selection here.

Hi pjf,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. The printer can not automatically recognize the size and type of paper you are using.  WHen you load tray one you would need to specify what type, size, and color of paper has been loaded following the modify the type, color and size paper solution. There is no way to make this a one click process.  Please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Phaser 7500 - line of color across all printed pages, new imaging unit same issue

Hello alll,

 

I am working on attempting to get a large stock of recovered Xerox Phaser 7500DN printers (and other models) to good working condition for sale as used. I am coming across an issue while attempting to service these 7500 units. So far, I have had it happen in two different units and I do not want to continue until I can fix it and keep it from happening again. 

 

So, the issue started when I was swapping imaging units between two tested and working 7500 units (one is making a noise so Im pulling good parts from to get the others to better condition). the 7500 I swapped good working imaging units into started to have a magenta streak on all prints from end to end. I went to clean the window, no change, I checked the imaging unit and found there was a straight line pressed into a specific point in the imaging units roller. I didnt know how it happened, but I decided to just swap the imaging unit that came from the unit back into the 7500 and it should be good. I checked it before inserting and it was fine but, when I ran the printer after installing the original imaging unit also developed the streak on the paper and the indent line on the drum.

 

So, I decided to leave that printer for now and move onto another, seperate unit from these two. It was working well so I moved it to a space to clean completely, remove all scuff marks and blow/vaccum all loose toner in the unit out. I finished cleanning it and moved it back to my work station to do final prints of its quality and take pictures, but when I went to do a "remove smudges" print out to get rid of any loose toner I had gotten on the inside while vaccuming I found that the prints had the same long streak from end to end, but in black this time. I checked the imaging unit and found that it too now has a line pressed into the drum like the magenta imaging unit in the other 7500.

 

Now I have two 7500 units I cannot sell because even if I or a buyer put a new imaging unit in them, they would still have the same issue, and I wont continue to replace imaging units because I know itll be a waste of money. I need help on what I can do to fix what is causing this damage to the imaging units and how to avoid it in the future. it seems to possibly some sort of specof dust stuck somewhere or a part inside that is pressing on the drum that it isnt supposed to be.

 

I should add, I have been running the clear smudges/streaks troubleshoot selection each time I test these units to clean them out and such and it seems to be that each time this started it was caused when I did that operation. Also, the line pressed on the magenta imaging unit of the first 7500 this happened in seems to possibly be aligned with the tab on the belt cleaner, but I dont see how that could be doing it. and also, I have some spare belt cleaners and I have replaced the belt cleaner in the second 7500 that has the black streak and it hasnt changed anything.

 

As far as my ability to do repairs on these printers goes, I am generally an amateur when it comes to experience in servicing printers, but I have been taking a lot of these sort of printers apart to sell parts from and I have taken 6700s apart and put them back together to swap parts, like replacing broken panels and internal components, so If I need to open the unit up to fix this issue I may be able to do so myself. 

 

We have contacted a professional to come out and assist with the repair on tuesday (10/18/16), but I want to hear input on attempting to repair the issue before then. 

 

I can provide, at this time, these picutres of the lines on the imaging units and the streaks on the paper at this time.

Using my Versant 80 as a printer.

We have our fiery EX-80  down at this moment ( I think the hard drive crash) . 

 

My question is;  is possible to connect the printer to the network and use it as a printer without the fiery ?   I don want any fancy functions, just I need to print letter paper from 1 tray, 1 side  only, really simple.  But I need to do it today.

There is no internal print controller on the Versant 80, so it is impossible to print without a DFE.

Hi!

I have problem with printing Tabloid paper size on my Xerox 7232.

You can see it on the attached image. 

Distance between spots is 5 3/4.

There is no problem with letter paper size.

ColorQube 8570 printing darker than other xerox printers

Hi,

 

Why is the new 8570 printing darker than the other printers we have.. 2 x Phasers 6250 and even inkjet ones?

 

We have hundreds of images we need to print now on the 8570 and do not need to go back and change anthing there.

 

It has to be the printer to change.

 

The prining quality is excellent but the whole images are darker.

 

I mainly use Corel Draw and Acrobat 8 for printing on plain and glossy

 

e.g. dark bue is really dark and skin tones are like dark sunburn.

 

How can we do this please?

Addition:  In Corel Draw I adjusted the gamma to 1.5 from 0 and it was more like the other printer's colour, altho maybe a little less vibrant. I guess because the gamma effected the whole thing..

I used plain and xerox glossy.

 

Anyway I'd appreciate some help please

Hard to say. It could be lots of things. Usually it.is off brand or a metered vs sold ink.

The way you describe the color shift implies the programs are outputting RGB intents, which is easily handled in Acrobat/Reader but I have no access to Corel products. To change the default in Acrobat/Reader you just go to Advanced and set it to Let Printer determine color or in Acrobat Pro it is Advanced > Color Management > None

And of course it could be the driver, it isn't likely in the PCL since it has no real color ability, but the PS driver does, and by default, Xerox tends to over saturate a bit (Think Samsung AMOLED displays), if it is that just set Color correction to None, in the PS driver

Corel draw, from What I remember, still uses old PPD based print, and make sure it is using the right ICC profiles, you can grab them here. Unfortunately, unless they added on the fly later, it would need to be set as a default according to their forum

It looks like what you would see from Indesign/Acrobat if you enabled color bars or something in an imposition .

 

Are you certain it is 11*17 causing the issue and not the specifics of the job?

If you make a copy onto tabloid does this still occur? If not, then reload the driver and verify it is gone, if it isn't, it will be something in the software from which you are printing.

 

The fact that it prints KCMY makes it seem much more likely to be something that got turned on by accident than something that broke.

 

But we need to know the answers to my questions here as well as what program, what driver, what operating system is in use.

MAC print drivers for Xerox 7970

I installed a Xerox 7970 with a C/Z Fold finisher.  I installed the driver on a Mac using the installer package from the support site.  When I open a document and go to print, the Xerox is selected, but I see nowhere to select the folding options.  It doesn't look like the Xerox driver does in Windows.  There is no "properties" to get into the settings, only an "Advanced" tab which brings up yet another generic looking window with a few options.  Any advice?

I installed print drivers for a new WC 7970, and went into CUPS --> Advanced to configure the settings for Xerox Stanard Accounting.  Unlike in Windows, I see no place to save the User ID.  I see options for prompting the user, and for masking the account ID and user ID, but where do you actually program the driver with the code, so the user doesn't need to manually enter the code every time they print something? accounting

CUPS doesn't have the option, you can only set it to prompt, or in the driver create a preset with the info and invoke it on every print.

If you have the Xerox driver and not an Apple driver like Secure Airprint or some other random Apple thing, you can add it manually if needed via Printers and Faxes > Options and supplies
