Wide format 6204; code 123-310

hello everybody

 

I have 124-310 code on 6204 wide format BPS, screen blacked out with code on it

 

diagnostics is not avalable;

 

print mode , centerware web are avalable and react correctly

 

no other codes in history

 

about a month ago I upgraded the FW up to 1.2.11 via network - no issues

 

the code explanation invites me do re-do the firmware via serial cable using Hyperterminal with some  modem settings

 

so I dont have that hardware.

 

Once the code appeared I tried to re-do the firmware via network - received fault message.

Unable to boot DC 250 with Fiery x3ety

Greetings, all--

 

Purchased a pre-owned DC250 with fiery x3ety. This is all relatively new to me, but I do have a pretty good knowledge of some aspects.

 

At the present time, I have the Command Workstation on my [Windows 10] PC, and all connections secure, lights at the router and the fiery for network are on and steady.

 

Could not find the server on Command Workstation via search of IP range search. Plugged in a monitor to the Fiery to see what was up, and it seems that the system is stuck on "UNCOMPRESSING LINUX... Ok, BOOTING THE KERNEL".

 

I do not have the software CDs for this, but I do believe I need to reinstall the Fiery software. I could, of course be wrong.

 

Any direction would be tremendously appreciated.

8570 Paper Jam - Tray 2 Only

I have an 8570 that will not print from the first (primary/internal) tray, or 'tray 2' as it's designated.  I keep getting a jam in door A and have to pull the sheet out.  Oddly enough, the thing runs fine from the 3rd tray below and from the manual feed.

 

Troubleshooting tips would be appreciated.

You can't use a monitor on a bustled Fiery, it is always in that state as it has no Window manager on its Linux OS.

 

Assuming it is connected via Crossover cable into the right port on the Fiery and the one on the copier, as well as by SCSI cable (big one, looks like an old Parallel cable, thumb screws and all)

 

Then the only way to get to its IP address is through the IOT (copier)

 

To do so, login as the admin (default user = 11111)

 

Go to System Settings > System Settings > Network Controller Settings > Network Settings > TCP/IP-IP Address and change it to match your LAN.

 

It will need to reboot when you exit out. If the Network Controller Settings option is not there, the Fiery needs to be reloaded, hopefully not,because I don't think EFI even sells the software anymore, and if they do, it is far from free. eBay would be your best bet there.

Take out tray 2 and clean the rollers that feed the paper

Turning off the maching and waiting 10 seconds didn't make a difference.

Changing cartridges was the key. I changed all cartridges and the problem was solved. I know it's not the most economical fix, but here's why I did it:

  1. I had gotten the low toner message on cyan a few weeks ago and so changed it.
  2. Days later I got another low toner message for black and changed it.
  3. Then days later got the Waste Full, Magenta message.
  4. When I turned off the machine, waited 10 seconds, then turned it back on I noticed a yellow toner low message preceding the Waste Full message. So I changed the remaining two cartridges and the problem was solved.

Note: I did not replace with Xerox cartridges but with LD brand.

Hello!

 

I'm trying to print in a Xerox Phaser 5550N but anything i tried it prints a paper with the same error:

Offending Commands typically imply bad Postscript code, but it should not apply to every job, just bad ones (or with non-default driver settings possibly)

 

So verify the 5550 is found in the GPD you have now

And if it is, try either a fresh install with a new port, or switch to the PCL GPD, which will get rid of PS code all together.

5550 is already selected in GPD.

So i changed the GPD from PS to PCL6 and works!

I don't think the problem is with the tray, I suspect the problem is in the printer, behind door A.  See attached photo.  I have swapped out trays, and if the problem was with the rollers, the problem would follow from tray 2 to tray 3.

Then you will need to call for service, or dig up a service manual and figure out what part is at fault, could be something blocking the path.

Phaser 6500DN drivers installed on Ubuntu 16.10 Duplexer not active, Prints fine

System is Ubuntu Mate 16.10
connecting by USB cable

I installed using the PPD file from the .rpm driver download
The duplexer installed in front as instructed.  Printer options set to "Flip Long Edge"

 

The trouble: Every 2 sided print comes out as 1 sided.

 

New printer, bought in January without warranty.

Joe, thank you for your answer.

 

I have found the ppd file and added the printer to CUPS.

I use LPR command to send and print files to this printer. 
Now, the problem is that it takes a lot of time (more than 10 minutes for a 200KB pdf file) for printer to receive the data and print the file.

Also, sometimes I get these errors:
"Unable to write print data: Broken pipe"
"/var/spool/cups/d63693-001: reported number of objects (44) inconsistent with actual number of objects (28)"

Do you know, what the problem could be?
