Post script driver

Hi,

I am searching for a postscript printing option for Phaser 3020. I have found CUPS-PDF in the installation package, but I guess it does not send work to printer.

Is there a way to print post script instructions to Phaser 3020?

 

If I print from a PDF, does it work as PS quality printing?

I thought my printer was dead. Unplugged it and it sat on my office floor for over a year. Then I searched and found this method to reset the error log and restart the printer. Well, I am extremely happy that it WORKED!!

I did the press and hold until the printer went into the maintenance mode, however I was not able to find the menu to do the clear error log, but then resumed to normal user mode, and while the printer restarted a couple of times, it worked!! The error was cleared. The printer went through several cleaning cycles, dumping about 10% of the ink, but it is now fully functional. I was even able to apply the firmware update which resolved a PDF issue I had at times over the many years. Printer is showing as having printed over 40000 pages, which for a single user, is quite a lot.

After a lot of fiddling about (firstly with a USB connection to my iMac to make sure that it was working, and then with a WiFi connection - because I want to locate the printer away from the iMac) I have at last got my recently purchased B205 to work as I had originally planned, ie over a home-based wired ethernet connection.

However, with all the different things I have tried, that seem to produce all sorts of different errors and messages, I am now becoming paranoid about what a correctly functioning m/c should look like !!!

After first printing, the Status Light flashes Green, and continues to do so even when in Power Save mode. I don't recall this happening before with the previous connections. I've powered-off (and then on) the printer and it doesn't make any difference. Is this what it is supposed to do?

Hello, I am using a Chromebook but not able to set up our Xerox Versalink C400 on it even though it picks the printer up. When I select the printer it keeps saying "Cant Connect to printer".

Can anyone help please?

Toner Cartridge grinding

I have a Workcentre 6027 that is approx 4yrs old. I purchased aftermarket toner cartridges a couple yrs ago. The printer has been working fine until last week. I printed out a page fine, then went to print a second and there started a loud grinding noise. I finally figured out it was the teeth on the black toner cartridge. I reseated and it worked fine for one page then did it again. Could it be the after market cartridges doing this due to not being aligned properly? Would spending the $290 for a Xerox bundle of toner cartridges probably fix it? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Thanks so much. I 'thought' I had checked all those settings thoroughly but evidently not. All now appears OK, as I remember it from the previous installation. Thanks again.

Well, it has taken over a month, but Xerox have finally arranged to despatch a replacement printer. I hope it will be with me before the Christmas holiday, but I'm expecting that it will be after. I'll let you know if the replacement printer shows the same problem.

Hi,

I have Xerox Workcentre 3119 printer&scanner.Scanner work perfectlly but when i install drivers for the printer&scanner and try to print somethink(PDF) it prints:

INTERNAL ERROR - Incomplete Session on by time out

POSSITION : 0xbf1 (3057)

SYSTEM : H6FW/os_hook

LINE : 1634

VERSION : QPDL 1.40 11-14-2005 

Re-add physical device

I am trying to re-add a physical device to Equitrac Express Manager after it was accidentally deleted.

However I get an error when adding it back in.

Error [50860]

Attempted to update a device.

EQCASDeviceSubSystem::eqHandleIPAddressInParam: AP Address '168.156.123.107' is in use by '168.156.123.107' device  (type='phd' id=151081).

Hello - A networking change was made last night which disables TLS 1.0 and 1.1 protocols on our network switches. Today almost all of the printers are offline.
I was able to test with the networking team on a printer that did not have the change applied properly, and found  Encryption Settings: Set them to TLS 1.2,Then sent the change to it, and it went offline also.

It has been a few months now, is this still an issue on the 180 and did it extend to the 3100's ?

We are considering their new Versant 280 which is the 180 with higher 350 GSM duplex or 400 GSM single side spec. As well it has the option of Metallics but at seemingly excessive price for the option. (I think they put the decimal place 1 to far to the left for the option:(

Alternatively if they have a clearance on their 3100 models for their soon to be released new models due to release of the new ones that will do the additional metalic inks.

We have a 2100 and just received the newest model of 2nd BTR (2.0), the one who 3100 uses. It lasted 1 day with under 3000 impressions and then there were streaks on the paper. We only used 170gsm Xerox Colour Impressions Silk and were not able to complete the print order without streaks.

Our conclusion is that this these Versant machines are not made for Coated paper. Especially Silk paper. If we were running silk paper every day, we would need to replace several 2nd BTR's within a single week.

I'm 99% sure that Xerox will never fully fix this issue by just adjusting the 2nd BTR and making script changes. They need to make a completely different 2nd BTR and replace several parts of the machine. The machine just uses a lot of toner that is too much to handle for the 2nd BTR. The 2nd BTR's also gets damaged very easily by the edge of the paper, which will cause a scratch on the 2nd BTR, that will transfer toner dirt on the printed paper.

Printing on Colotech+ 160gm

Hello.

 

I am trying to get the best quality colour prints out of our printer and am unsure how to setup the manual feed tray for Colotech+ 160gm paper.

The only options I get are Bond, Plain, Recycled, Custom 1-5, Hole Punched, Letterhead, Pre-Printed, Lightweight cardstock, Cardstock, Envelope, Light glossy cardstock, Glossy cardstock and Labels.

Is there a way to tell the printer I am wanting to print on image quality paper?

In that case I guess its up to Xerox to state what they did differently on the 280 model if anything. Are their any Versant 280 users that care to comment, if not Xerox?
