Not really. We updated our C8070 to firmware 100.003.097.22500 and the latest publicly available UPD PS version. Using High Resolution for Print Quality under Printing Options and LCD Display for Color Correction under Image Options has produced the most favorable results although Cyan is now washed out looking but at least not dark blue. Magenta is finally mostly magenta and not dark red which is good but these results are not sufficient for most users and we are receiving more and more complaints from them. It's odd to me that the colors are so far off by default as if we don't make any changes to the device/driver for 2 other device manufacturers here, print outs are largely accurate using PCL or PS drivers.

Yep sounds exactly like my issue. I've had a few people print some reports (with pictures) that just looked awful even on highest resolution.

 

I managed to get a decent print using the windows 10 xerox print driver, it came out as expected, so the copier is fine.

 

The problem with the Xerox print driver is that there isnt a version available for Windows 7/Server 2008, I still have a few machines on Win7 that I'm unabled to update at present. The printer server is 2008 also.

 

For a brand new copier this is very disappointing. The 7855 was perfect!

Just curious. When you say Windows 10 Xerox print driver, are you talking about their V4 PostScript driver? All of our print servers too are Windows 2008 R2 currently. Thanks.

I think so yes. When you go to the drivers page, click windows 10 x64 in the dropdown.

 

The driver i installed locally on the PC (it wouldnt install on the 2008 print server) was the one listed in there as - Xerox Print Driver Installer.

DocuPrint 180 - PDF does not completely print.

Hello All!

 

I have been having trouble printing a PDF on our DocuPrint 180. The problem is that it never completely finishes printing.

 

On average it will print about 1,600 simplex letter size pages. When it has printed that many it will go "completed" and print a summary of how many pages printed. No error sheets or any indication that it did not do what it was supposed to do.

 

The problem is these PDF files are between 7,000-11,000 pages, on average 7-20 Mb. This forces me to submit the job multiple times, each time getting the last page from the actual print operator.

 

I am submitting the job by printing from Adobe Acrobat DC on a windows 7 64-bit machine, I have the latest DP180 print drivers installed. I currently cant think of why this relatively small file would not be able to print completely, or at least inform me as to why the job does not complete.

 

Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Tester1,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Are you getting any kind of fault code or error message? It may be a font issue are you able to print documents other than this  one?  If so then it may be the font / language of the document.  Try converting the document to a PDF and print as image.  If that still does not work please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

There is no problem with fronts. There is a bug of firmware, printers dont print with massage nonsense like "load unstandart papper". I special gave a link on that document that you can download and see that bug. It is unacceptable to spend a thousand euros and not be able to print the most common document...

Ok so i think I've got to the bottom of it.

 

The V4 drivers which are designed for Windows 8.1 and above (inc server 2012 and above) they work as expected, the image quality and colours are great.

 

The V3 drivers used for Windows 7 and Server 2008 do not work, the image quality and colours are terrible.

 

I dont think the drivers are broke, it must be how the printer interprets the data.

 

Not sure what to do now, raising a ticket with Xerox get passed from pillar to post. Brilliant.

Interesting find. We aren't in a position to be able to use V4 drivers so I hope Xerox can correct whatever the problem is in the V3 version. Thanks for the info.

Solved.

 

I removed the printer again from my printers list and re-added it. But instead of adding it as «Standard» printer, I choose «IP», typed the pritnters address manually and used the LPD-Protocol. This worked - didn't extensively test it with different Apps but on the first few tries the Apps that crashed before, did crash no more and the printer startet printing also alot quicker than before. Seems to be a network protocoll issue...

Did anyone at Xerox, or some clever end user, ever discover the reason behind this error? It doesn't seem to be either the pick up roller or the  transfer roller. Once the paper starts moving, there is no slippage or lag on its way through the machine. But there is that vertical offset and then the paper size error, so the printer is clearly not reading the lead and tail ends of the sheet correctly. This happens whether making a copy or printing from the network.

 

If I thought it was a mechanical issue I'd change the entire maintenance kit but it really does seem to be more of an electronic problem. If the culprit was discovered at some point, please do let me know.

 

PS - I did a factory reset on the printer just in case there was some odd setting I was missing. It didn't make any difference.

Hi BzzzSM,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Try using the PS driver, LPD port (No LPR byte counting), Since the job is PDF  based and you make the files, use PDF/x presets to eliminate the garbage data printers don't deal with well (transparencies and improperly embedded fonts).  If the problem continues please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Spent half an hour on the phone to Xerox... It seems the v3 Global print driver post script for Win 7 / Servoer 2008 seems to work. Not perfect but far superior than the other drivers. It will do for now.

 

Hopefully Xerox sort the other drivers as i really dont like the Global drivers.

I have a similar problem with a Phaser 7760, wherein up to 4 sheets of 11" x 17" coated/glossy paper will be pulled from the tray simultaneously, apparently due to static cling.  The humidity in the room is about 45%: however, this problem does not occur with any of the "regular" paper used in this printer.  Any idea how to avoid static, or de-staticize the paper and/or printer?  Thanks.

Today I turned on my Versant 80, and after a few minutes I get error code 044-394.

If I turn it on without the Fiery Ex-i80 pluged in, there are no error messages. 

Can someone help?
