Hi Cathy1,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Which print driver are you using?  I would suggest the Global Driver.  Also are you using any type of accounting feature or software? If you are using accounting turn it off and try to print and see if it works with no accounting on. Please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.


WorkCentre 6027 Cartridge Density Error

I recently purchased a Xerox WorkCentre 6027 and it show to have come with cartridges with 100% capacity.  I printed apx 150 pages and they dropped down to about 88% according to the icon on the top of the display screen.  Shortly there after, an error message popped up stating there was a "cartridge density error- check black cartridge".  I had not expected full cartridges when I purchased the printer and made the assumption that the black cartridge had an issue.  I purchased a new cartridge that said it would print apx 2000 pages.  I printed about another 125 pages and the same "cartridge density error- check black cartridge" notice showed up again, mid-printing.  I have not found a way to get this message off of the screen to look at any of the stats on the printer.  Also, I don't understand why the error message is back when it is a brand new cartridge that has been replaced.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated since I have one very large and expensive paper weight sitting in my home.

A few words for the last. No matter what driver (gpd, pcl, ps) or connection method, dont print on 4622 same with 3320 with massage:

 

Paper Mismatch Tray2
Load [Custom]
[Unspecified] & [Unsp..

 

"no issues here with printing word documents to that printer" that is bull**bleep**. Keep your customers for idiots, but not me. I'm very glad that I will not see any more these printers with never ending bugs of firmware.

Cathy1 thats never ending bugs of firmware that you should update. Besides that 3325 is special bugy, try this firmware link.

If you have the printer setup on a print server you can set the default properties there and that way the end users can not change the settings. Right click the printer, select Printer Properties and then go to the Administration tab. There's a "Black and White Only:" option that you can then enable and no matter what they send will always print to B&W

Hi Tester1,

I think we have done all we can here on the forum.  Without more information about your setup and process we are just guessing at this point.  I understand you are frustrated but people are just trying to help no need to be rude to them.  I would suggest at this point to either contact your local support centre directly or contact the Customer Relations Group to find a resolution to your problem. 

Labels put in Xerox 6505 and now has a yellow smudge on pages

Good Afternoon everyone,

 

One of my users decided to put some labels in our Xerox 6505 printer and some how ink was released and we have 3 to 4 yellow marks being printed on the page. I took it apart but couldn't find the source of the smudging yellow mess. Is there a way move the imager and/or the fuser manually. I didn't see anything to turn it. Will I need to replace one of these two?

I am seeing the same problem, i created an account to ask this question here.

 

Windows 7 64bit server, to WIndows 7 64bit client.  Doesnt pull the "Saved Settings" details from the server when on the server there setup in the Printer Defualts.

 

HP drivers had no issues with this at all (on the same server and same PC), so its not a username / password / sharing issue, it appears driver related.

 

SNMP is used to pull the printer details from the pritner hardware to the driver thats connected to it over direct IP address (at least with HP it is), items like tray counts, stacker / staplier installed, the amount of RAM and as far as i know (Network Specialist over 20 years), these sharing systems (Saved Settings) are direct coms from the sharing server to the client PC

Cheryl - thanks for replying. This situation is insane. I have bought an official cartridge and it doesn't work because of a region lock. I have now bought a much cheaper third party cartridge and it works just fine. Xerox is actively turning away my business for replacement cartridges.

Hello everyone

I'm looking for a cost efficient printer that has the capability of handling up to tabloid pape (11 x 17), can duplex, and as well, can create custom paper sizes. 

Is anyone aware of any xerox printer that will do this?

Phaser 6510 Refuses to Print Custom Size Bypass Tray

Phaser 6510 refuses to print an envelope with a 3.625 x 6.5-inch size.  I had defined this as a custom size the first (and only time) I printed such an envelope, but now all I get is "COMPLETED WITH ERROR 024-747" on the LED display.  The first try after a printer power-up, I get the barely audible beeping (God forbid you print from a machine more than 2 feet away from the printer - you'd never hear the beeping), and it is asking if I want to change the bypass tray paper size.  If I elect not to, I get the same error above.  If I elect to change it, I can't select my custom named size, I have to re-enter it under the "CUSTOM" size option, and then I get the same error again.  Any attempt to print a second or third time after power-up, gets no request to change the bypass tray paper size, it just goes straight to the 024-747 error above.

 

This is INCREDIBLY STUPID!  Apparently Xerox thinks the printer itself needs to be smarter than its interface application, and refuse to honor tray selection and print sizes made in the printer app interface. And if you were printing to the printer in a remote location (like another room) you won't hear the beeping sound and you get no feedback on your PC that the printer refused to honor the print request. VERY POOR ENGINEERING!

 

To top it off, Xerox REFUSES TO OFFER SUPPORT unless you have at least 2 of three things - a serial number, customer number, an invoice number.  If, as I did, you purchase the printer at a retailer instead of directly from Xerox, you don't have a customer niumber or invoice number Xerox recognizes, and therefore they refuse all your attempts to contact support EVEN IF THE PRINTER IS STILL  UNDER WARRANTY!

 

Poor user interface design, absolute crap support - its a wonder they stay in business.

Those machines are too old to do the traces themselves, you would need to hook up a switch to intercept all traffic to and from the printer and run Wireshark yourself, which is not something I could explain/teach on this forum.

You print to the public folder with the driver, you don't upload to it.

Xerox WorkCentre 5955 Cannot Reach Accounting Server

We 10+ xerox mfps.  One of them will not copy or scan with the following message "Cannot Reach Accounting Server"

What is this and how can i fix?

I am able to reach the Machine Web interface.

 

Phaser 6280 won't print on wifi network

Hi, I have a Mac running OS 10.12.6 (Sierra) and a wifi network created by a Time Capsule. My computer recognizes the printer on the wifi network, but looks for the printer and then, eventually, says "Unable to locate printer" -- the printer shows up as "in use" in the dialog box, and then shows green if I cancel the print job. I can print perfectly well if I connect the printer to my computer by USB. I have reinstalled the driver several times (although I am not certain I uninstalled the previous driver properly). The driver is version 3.2, which I downloaded from the Xerox website.

Any clues why this might have happened, and how I can fix it?
