I'm trying to install our new AltaLink 8070's on a few new machines that we have in house that are Windows 10. I'm wanting to force the user into inputting their code to send the job off to print, which I have done on Windows 7 machines we have, but the security option isn't usually where I'm use to looking. I'm using the PCL6 driver from the download page.
Am I just over looking something?

If you are using the v3 driver just like you do on the Windows 7 PC then there is literally no difference in setup or options.
If you decided to use a v4 driver, you will be very limited unless you install the Xerox Print Experience app (Every manufacturer has a program that must be used in conjunction with the v4 driver type, that is ours)
Xerox only supports AS/400 if you use their driver/WSCO library.
Instructions are in the zip included.
The toner needs to be removed before you replace things, else the new things will just get contaminated.

Thank you for your answer. Could you tell me how this could be cleaned up? Or how labor intensive this process might be for a professional? Can I do it myself? I am just trying to deduce if it's worth the effort. Like how many hours can this take?
In such a situation the orint quality will be fixed once the mess is cleaned up and new drum/toner/waste installed?

I also have the same issue. We installed the Xerox Color C60 printer and can see the selection to enable the Accounting system but there is no place to enter the code. There is no popup prompt from Word or Excel for us to enter the accounting code when we go to print. The printer settings are correctly configured as Windows users can print using their accounting code. It just seems to be the Mac users that lost the ability to enter the accounting code.
The picture you show is from an older driver. Version 4.8 of the driver is what we have installed and there is no Configuration tab as in previous versions of the driver. Where do we go to enter the Accounting code using the new driver?

Mac drivers don't have a Configuration tab, and the 4.8 driver even in 10.13 has not changed it's methods, but Apple has made changes at the OS level, mainly that you must install the driver via an LPD port with the queue name set to lp or some things like accounting may not work (No idea why, I'm sure Xerox and Apple will figure something out eventually, but not quickly, Apple does not consider us a priority at all)
But you still set it to prompt in CUPS, not in the driver specifically. (No changes here in years)
It is still found on a per job basis in exactly the same place
And if the issue is specific to MS Office apps, it would imply you have not initiated the printer itself, and MS doesn't do that for you like Adobe does. It uses Last used Settings, so the prompt will not occur until you selected Xerox features > Advanced, then it should invoke the prompt from then on.
It depends on where it made it to, which you won't know without dismantling it.
If it were me, I would simply clean it up with a dry rag as best I could where I could and hope for the best, for a professional, it is a very simple task because they have the service manuals and the experience to know where it could/would be, but I do not (I'm a software guy, not hardware).
The print quality certainly should be fixed, but I won't be giving any 100% guarantees, I have no way of knowing. (The waste container won't do a thing for image quality, it's a garbage can)
I would have the magenta developer housing and developer replaced. The barber pole deletions indicate that the housing is depleted of developer.
I installed new printer for customer. We tried to print C5 envelope, but envelope is too crumpled. How to fix that?

I've model 7835 integrated in the LDAP forest in order to access network shares.
Everything is working fine but I would like to know if it's possible to restrict printing to a list of users or to setup a password/pin on the printer (by default the user should type it prior to have papers).
I've seen that is possible to use the "Secure Print" function: If I have correctly understood it's up to the user, prior to send the document, to setup the PIN on its PC.
I want the secret code settled by default on the printer and shared only with a group of people.
The goal is to prevent printing from other offices/BU of the same building.

But in case it misbehaves again, can you please spell out the steps for installing the printer manually? How do I find out its IP address?

Hi all,
We have got 3 WorkCentre printers (7835, 5945) coupled with PaperCut and setup with smartcard login for "Followme" printing. When swiping the card, it automatically releases user's jobs upon login.
But there are situations (paper jam or no paper for example) where the printing is not coming out after user A swipes the card at Printer 1, and, let’s say user A hasn't notice the error on the screen and leaves to its desk thinking to resend the job later...
Because user A and maybe other users swiped the card while Printer 1 was not printing, their job went to Printer 1 queue (on local hdd if I’m not mistaking) and cannot be released at a different printer (job is no longer present in Followme printer’s queue). Now, if user B clears the issue at Printer 1 (fills the trays with paper or unjam the printer), user’s A prints and other’s prints will be printed straight away.
So, is there a way to avoid this situation? Thank you!
How to get the IP address
Press the [Menu] button to exit.
Buy an envelope that is meant to go through a printer
Change the orientation in the tray when you load it
Set the stock for a heavier weight
If you just want specific people to print, and they all use a code, you might as well just enable XSA. (read attached pdf)
If you just want specific devices/people to print, then enable IP filtering and nobody but the ones using specific devices can print
Shown below is the way I've loaded the paper and the job status messages and job details. I set up in the control panel the dimensions, paper weight, and color (I just chose green because that seemed the closest color to scantron, although white paper color didn't make any difference.)
MS Word is the problem, it is over riding the driver and specifying for 8.5*11 instead of the custom size (I'm assuming you did set the size and tray in the Xerox driver here).
