Re: White lines in Black prints - what roller is doing this?

Hi,

It can be the LED units dirty. Use the cleaning rod's to clean them.

Or it could be the fuser roll used.

It will be better if you can upload some images with issue.

Re: Network printing problem

Hi,

Most of the issues with non printing jobs and „Offline” messages are from driver settings.

First check to see if  there is no job in the print queue (delete any job if exist).

As per Joe053204-xrx advice check the port to be on TCP/IP and not WSD. MS convert the port to WSD. If it is so, click right on the print driver and click on „Printer Properties”, click on „Ports” tab, click on „Add port”, select „Standard TCP/IP port” , click on „New port” and set an IP and in the next window click „Finish”.

After that click again on ''Ports'' tab click on "Configure port" and change from  RAW to LPR, at the Queue name write "lp" and be sure to unchecked "LPR Byte Counting Enable" and "SNMP Status Enabled".

It is configured using a TCP port and LPR turned on.  Still experiencing the issue.

But you need to uncheck the LPR byte counting and SNMP boxes.

Sorry I left that out.  Those boxes are unchecked.

It isn't the printer (other people are printing) and for the same reason, it isn't the LAN or the driver at fault, and since it is at least 2 different protocols but only from 1 computer, it would imply a broken spooler in Windows, which will mean a reload of Windows, or at least a system restore or repair.

You may get away with sharing a working printer from another PC and connecting to that printer from the broken PC, in which case the spool would be handled by the working PC, but of course that other PC would have to always be on.

Alignment Adjustment/SIQA on paper 300-350 gsm

$

In a nutshell, we need to do an alignment on paper with a gsm of 300-350, the heaviest weight our machine accepts.  I have been trained to use SIQA and it seems to work most of the time, however, it requires the paper to be double-side printable.  This weight of paper can not be flipped to side two inside the machine.  When printing using this weight, we have to print all side one, then put the paper back into the tray and print all side two.

Because we can not print the weight of paper two-sided (machine itself restricts it) we can not use SIQA for an alignment.  So all our prints come out skewed.... first side one... then side two.

HOW do I do an alignment adjustment for this weight??!!

Since you can't use SIQA you would need to try manually setting it from the 180 itself, and if it doesn't work, a tech will need to do so via NVM changes.

As admin go to Machine status > Tools > System Settings > Common Service Settings > Maintenance > Alignment Adjusrtment > Manual Adjustments

Edge printing with phaser 6510?

Does the phaser 6510 have edge printing? I want to print a picture without any margins. How would you go about doing this if possible?

Thank you.

I have hp printer but i found that following steps will solve your issue.

In the Xerox printer properties dialog box, click the Paper drop-down and select "Other Size..." Then in the "Original Document Size: drop-down box (4th drop-down box from the top), choose the desired paper size. Then click Close, OK, OK, and when you return to the PDF document it will show the dimensions of the new paper size chosen.

Ethernet Card: Disabled Under Port Setup/Ethernet Profile

While trying to fix a connection/no printing problem I accidentally hit "reset to network settings" on the machine menu. This ended up disabling the ethernet card.  I cannot figure out how to enable it.  Does anyone know?  This is a networked printer with a static IP. Nothing I have tried is fixing this, including unplugging, restarting, setting to dhcp, etc.  I cannot reach  it through the online interface because...ethernet card disabled...  This happened once before and the IT guy fixed it, but i need to know how to do this on this machine.

Profiles and Calibration turning everything red

My latest use of the PhaserMatch software to calibrate and profile our 7800 GX printers are turning out red.
I am not apparently doing anything differently than the instructions say, but all my grays come out reddish and many blues are purple.

I have abandoned the use of it for manual onboard calibration, by which I can get near-perfect gray balance.

Is there any reason it skews the colors?

Re: Unable to print with accounting on Mac OS Mojave

I run support for about 300 Xerox machines accross a state university campus with a density of 30% Mac users and this going back and forth with accounting breaking every OSX upgrade (or Office update) has become a challenge. Liek the suggestion made above I have told users to print from Office 365 or Acrobat DC since those work and wait for a resolution.

Hopefully Xerox coems out with a patch because I am slowly losing patience with Apple on these matters. Then again maybe we will all get an early Christmas present on this matter!

Meanwhile one group is going to see if we can deploy the fix from Fabio. Thanks all!

Solved it on my own! I used Mac OS Server - Profile Manager and created a custom settings payload with the userID for each employee. That took effect immediately when deployed.

It isn't possible, there are no toner based printers that do it at even similar to affordable cost. You have to print full bleed on a larger size then trim the paper itself down after it is printed.

This isn't a Xerox matter, the competition is no different

Your posits, as well as similar claims from Xerox Level 2 & 3 software support, are inaccurate. In an unnecessarily protracted conversation with your Xerox software support, we repeatedly and in detail explained the circumstances involving this frustrating issue.

We truly have a difficult time comprehending why Xerox "support" has not grasped the various scenarios involving this bothersome, vexing driver issue. E.g. we explained in several different ways, some as simply as possible, that we had been using 4.14* Xerox drivers (WorkCentre 4265) with no issues whatsoever for Microsoft Office 2011 products. I.e. we could print labels, envelopes, letters, etc. using "XeroxFeatures" from the 4265 4.14 drivers, UNTIL we update the firmware in June 2018. Even afterwards, we were able to print with access to "XeroxFeatures" on the 4.14 drivers.

For some unknown reason, we decided to download that identical driver, from the Xerox site, after successfully using the "XeroxFeatures" option. After "reintalling" those same print drivers, we noticed the crossed or "lined" out "XeroxFeatures" from the driver drop-down options, again, same driver, identical to the vs. we had been using with no driver malfunctions (loss of "XeroxFeatures" option). This is where Xerox (software support) failed to grasp our circumstances, despite our numerous explanations. We even asked software support why they thought we could print media using "XeroxFeatures" with the 4.14 drivers but after reinstalling those drivers, the "XeroxFeatures" option was unavailable. You simply cannot grasp that.

The Xerox software support "technician" we spoke with in that conversation, "Ed", so much as implied that we were lying about past and subsequent printing feautures' functionality. When we bluntly asked "Ed" if he thought we were lying, he responded that "Well no other customers or users are having these issues."

Approximately 2 weeks later, we received a follow-up call from Xerox software support's "Ed," offering his apologies. After his management reviewed our conversation, Xerox software support investigated the issue more thoroughly. Ed apologized that there were (and are) numerous users who were having (and still are) the same issues we experienced, inability to print the same Office 2011 special media (envelopes, labels, heavy stock, etc) after installing the firmware update that we were able to print PRIOR to that, once again, with the SAME 4.14 print drivers.

So, as we did with software support, a simple, very basic overview of this Xerox driver malfunction:

  1. able to print Office 2011 documents using "XeroxFeatures" from 4.14 driver's dropdown options, PRIOR to firmware update in May or June of 2018
  2. UNABLE to print Office 2011 using "XeroxFeatures" after reinstalling 4.14 drivers after the firmware update.
  3. No changes, updates, etc. to OS X system, applications, etc prior to reinstalling 4.14 drivers NOR after.

Therefore, it seems Xerox is still in a state of denial with regards to this vexing, productivity bottlenecking issue.

Xerox Features will show up only in 64bit apps if you have a 4.x or newer driver...

Xerox Features will show up only in 64bit apps if you have a 4.x or newer driver...

Xerox continued to support 32/64-bit applications until June 2017 when we released the new 4.x version of the print driver...

The v4.x driver is 64-bit only, supports macOS 10.11 through 10.13 and is the only macOS driver that will continue to add new printers. The most well-known application that is 32-bit is Microsoft Office 2011...

Our Xerox Phaser 7800 GX is displaying the error message "Developer 4 End of Life". We have ordered the developer (yellow) to replace. Only now do I realize this is a bag of powder with no instructions.

Can someone direct me to the installation guide for this? Or let me know how to remove the error message if this yellow developer powder is not necessary. I tried shaking the yellow toner cartidge as described in the previous post, but the error message remains.

Thanks for your help.

Hi, did you ever find an engineer to fix this problem? the developer powder?

Requires media in Bypass tray and jaming issue

$

Hi,

I just purchased a VersaLink C7020 MFP to the office and spent the better part of my day trying to get it to work.

After installing the machine and loading plain A4 papers in tray 1 (it only has tray 1 and bypass) I immediately started getting errors on the machine. The start up page would not print because there was no papper in the bypass tray and for some reason it required A4 paper to be loaded both the tray 1 and in the bypass tray. This continued to be the case until I managed to change the report printing setting "Paper supply" to tray 1 instead of the default Auto.

For regular printing from the computer, anything but explicitly specifying tray 1 for media will not print with the same error as above, the job requires A4 media loaded in both tray 1 and the bypass tray.

What I want the printer to do is only take media from the bypass tray if the bypass tray is loaded and the loaded media fits the print job. In all other cases it should default to tray 1 and print plain A4. I've set the default paper size to A4 and also set "When specified paper is unavailable" to "Print Letter/A4 substitution". Whatever setting I try for the trays I can't get this to work or at least not the throw deacribed above and refuse to print.

Also everytime I load plain A4 into the bypass tray with the short side towards the machine ("portrait orientation") the paper jams in the machine. Loading them with the long side towards the machine ("landscape orientation") seems to work though.

WC 7830; Select between color/bw while using Linux/CUPS ppd

Aplication: Library/Public terminals for searching and printing academic work

Hardware: Raspberry Pi B3+

Software: Raspian, CUPS, PPD File

Situation:

My users need the ability to select if they want to print a given document in color or in black and white. I already know there is no alternative in the PPD file to allow them to select the mode, and the normal drivers won't install in those machines.

Is there a way the user can select between color and B/W printing before the document is sent to the printer?

Is there an alternate PPD file or a way to enable the PPD file to select the printing mode?

Thank you for your time.
